Detailed Description:

Whenever you enter a CD, the autoplay dialog will appear. Look for the option that states "Rip from CD Using Media Player" (this name may change on various versions, but it will be close). You can then change the settings by going to Tools-Options-Rip Music. You can select various settings now on the Media Player like MP3 or WMA. Note that by default it will rip the songs to WMA format, but you can change this. Other options are also listed for skipping tracks, songs, etc. You can also use Winamp to burn CDs or rip from CDs, the latest version is very good and can be downloaded free.
