Listed below is helpfull tips on how to use ITunes with your Ipod. The 2 most important things are copying music to your Ipod and deleting songs from your Ipod. ITunes can be downloaded for free (or simply install the CD if one came with your Ipod purchase). If you do not have ITunes on your computer, install it or go download it first.
First off, using ITunes you will notice that you can search and list all types of music, download and listen to new artists, or purchase music for any popular song you want. Assuming you already have music, you need to copy must to your Ipod. On ITunes, click "File - Add file to library" or "File - add folder to library" and all your songs will appear on your ITunes library. Its fairly simple, and these will remain in your list. If you purchase songs from ITunes, then these appear in your list automatically. To remove them from your list, simply highlight any one of them and press the delete key on your keyboard. Note that this only removes them from your list, it does not physically delete the song from your hard drive, so you will not lose the song by deleting it from your list. Next, copying music to your Ipod is equally as easy. Just highlight any songs on your list in ITunes, if you want to choose the entire list at once, simply highlight the first song, then hold down your shift key and click the last song and the entire list will be highlighted. Now use your mouse and drag the list (since they are all highlighted, that means all will be copied) it onto your Ipod folder (it will show "Owners Ipod") listed on the left hand side of the screen. If your Ipod is connected to the computer, an Ipod line will appear in ITunes and you will see it. You can also drag one song at a time if you want, or you can hold down your ctrl key while you click each song individually to pick many songs to drag (if you want some of the songs but not the entire list). To delete music from your Ipod, click the "Owners Ipod" option on the left window to display your Ipod music songs, highlight any songs in the list and press your delete key on your keyboard.
