View List Detailed Description:
Most of the web email services all contain very similiar features today, which was not the case when web mail first started, and all ISP services offer webmail today, including AOL webmail, Earthlink webmail, Roadrunner, etc. The main advantage of this is that you can read your webmail simply from any web browser by entering your password, so if you are on the road or are using a different computer where your email software is not installed, you can still easily access your email. Gmail was the first to offer 2 gigs of storage, and others soon followed so there really is no main advantage on gmail anymore. Yahoo, Netscape, Lycos, Hotmail, AIM, and various others now offer free webmail just by signing up, so you have many choices. Yahoo seems to be very good, and hotmail and gmail are also popular. AIM now offers 2 gigs of storage also and their features are also very good, they mimic the features of their ISP service which has some very good features and spam filters. If you are using AIM, then you already have an AIM webmail account by default. Hotmail still seems to be a little behind as far as storage goes. I personally feel the 3 best are probably AIM, Yahoo, and maybe gmail, in any order.
