These whiting photos shown below are close up pictures showing you exactly what a whiting fish looks like. Whiting are caught in salt water or brine water. Most whiting are not very large in size, but are a favorite eating fish among many fishing anglers. These are often found sold in stores or restaurants, and have a very soft and flaky texture when cooking. They feed on bait such as shrimp, crabs, clams, or minnows. Most catch them while fishing the backwaters or creeks, but are often caught beach fishing or surf fishing, or even out in the ocean.

Please remember to always following fishing regulations for catch and release, as it is important to release fish to help keep the population strong for the next time you go out fishing. Releasing larger fish that produce the most eggs is also critical, and remember when releasing fish that you handle them as little as possible, and get them back into the water as soon as you can.
