Detailed Description:

The weakfish fish photo shown below is a close up picture showing you exactly what a Weakfish fish looks like. Weakfish and Yellowmouth Trout are the same fish, but are called 2 different names. These fish are not well known by most fishing anglers, except for those that are heavy trout fishermen, as most confuse the yellowmouth trout with a spotter seatrout. They really look identical except the yellowmouth trout has the tinted yellow color across the back and fins, and a strong yellow color in the mouth. It's also called weakfish because of the very soft mouth, if you hook one of these bring them in slowly so the hook does not tear free of their mouth. These trout are abundant in salt water areas, and are found in nearby fresh water that connects to the salt water. These are a favorite food for many fish eaters, and also grow to large sizes which makes them a fun target for fish anglers. These normally have strict limits on what you can keep, because they were almost fished out in some parts of the country. In some areas you aren't allowed to keep any during specific months when they are breeding. Yellowmouth Trout (Weakfish) eat the same as Spotted Seatrout, bait such as worms, cut up fish, minnows and other bait fish, shrimp and artificial lures all work well as Yellowmouth Trout bait.

Please remember to always following fishing regulations for catch and release, as it is important to release fish to help keep the population strong for the next time you go out fishing. Releasing larger fish that produce the most eggs is also critical, and remember when releasing fish that you handle them as little as possible, and get them back into the water as soon as you can.
