View List Detailed Description: These spotted seatrout fish photos shown below are close up pictures showing you exactly what a spotted seatrout fish looks like. Spotted seatrout, also called "specs", "speckled trout", or just "sea trout", are salt water or brine water fish and are popular with many fishing anglers. The spotted seatrout is good eating, but was almost fished to extinction so most have tight fishing limits and regulations on them today. Netting almost wiped out the seatrout in some areas. Spotted seatrout feed on many different things, bait such as shrimp, fiddler crabs, cut up fish, or minnows all work as spotted seatrout bait. Like most trout, they like movement and many fish using artificial baits and lures similiar to how you would fish for bass. They have many black dots across the sides and are very colorfull. Please remember to always following fishing regulations for catch and release, as it is important to release fish to help keep the population strong for the next time you go out fishing. Releasing larger fish that produce the most eggs is also critical, and remember when releasing fish that you handle them as little as possible, and get them back into the water as soon as you can.
