View List Detailed Description: The hard headed catfish is a catfish caught in many southern and easy coast creeks, where the fresh water mixes with salt water. The hardheaded catfish like saltwater and normally are not caught in pure freshwater rivers. These are often considered a nuissance catfish as they are normally not as big as the good eating catfish like channel catfish, blue catfish, or flathead catfish. Many do enjoy eating them but they are normally not a target for anglers, and also produce alot of slime and stinging when you are trying to unhook them. The name hardheaded catifsh comes from the extremely hard and flat top of the head. Pleas e remember to always following fishing regulations for catch and release, as it is important to release fish to help keep the population strong for the next time you go out fishing. Releasing larger fish that produce the most eggs is also critical, and remember when releasing fish that you handle them as little as possible, and get them back into the water as soon as you can.
