Copying music from your Ipod is very easy, and a few steps are listed below which will walk you through it. There are many reasons to copy songs from an Ipod or Ipod Nano, as often you may want to save your music or files to a computer as a backup in case you ever lose your Ipod, or you may want to copy these to a 2nd computer, a new computer, etc. The steps are also the same whether you have a "Ipod nano", "Ipod mini", etc., it does not matter. First off, connect your Ipod and then make sure ITunes is open on your computer. I prefer to have the manual Ipod setting (which means I will simply choose which music to copy, etc., to me this is easiest, so that is the option I will list). Connect your Ipod to your pc, then using ITunes, first simply display your music on the screen. Your music on the Ipod will be listed either by clicking the "library" option or "owners Ipod" option on ITunes. Now, any song you would like to copy to your pc, simply highlight it with your mouse, right-click, and then choose copy. Next open your explorer (not Internet Explorer, but Windows explorer), pick any folder where you want to put your music, right-click and choose paste. You are done! The music has now been copied from your Ipod to your computer, and you can also copying many files at one time by holding down your shift key when you highlight your music songs.
