Detailed Description:

First off, backdoor trojans are not necessarily one virus or trojan, but backdoor actually describes a type of virus. In other words many viruses may fall into this category, so describing how to remove the backdoor trojan is not one standard method. Any virus that opens a "backdoor" on your computer and allows access and control of your computer, is called a backdoor trojan virus. The main purpose of these virus types are to allow hackers the ability to access your machine, by removing security measures and opening your computer to them. There are literally thousands of backdoor viruses that fall into this category. Make sure you are always aware of what is running on your computer and what is in your startup list. Your startup list identifies programs that run when you reboot, and its critical to know what is listed there. Any new program that appears in your list (assuming you didn't install any new software lately) could be spyware or a virus. For example if you have 4 programs in your startup list, and suddenly it grows to 7 items, then you would want to look at the new programs to see if there are really programs you want starting up when you reboot.
