Did Vandersloot want to get caught?

Does the Vandersloot arrest also put to rest the Halloway case?
He admitted to it on video, then tried extortion, then is arrested for murder?....

This is clearly a bad guy, and he may now spend the rest of his life in prison after being arrested for murder. I can't believe the guy actually thought he could get away with this, especially when he was such a sure suspect in the Natalie Halloway case from Aruba years before. On top of it, he tried to extort money out of Halloway's family, which was surely going to lead him to prison anyways, and that news didn't come out until after he was arrested for the murder in Peru. Of course he was even on video in the casino, with the woman entering his hotel room, then without her when he was leaving. If he's guilty of this (and he apparently admitted to it), then maybe he was even trying to get caught. Its the only thing I can figure out.

Some people are just stupid or crazy. There are alot of things he could do besides murder. How about setting goals to accomplish something in life that is not harmfull?
