Radiation scans like CT scans may be causing cancer?

Cancer, radiation, and CT scans ... Ignored?
The fact this isn't even being monitored by doctors is horrifying....

This article really hits home for me, because I was scheduled to get a CT scan and was very concerned about it because I realize there are so many unknowns about cancer (other then the fact we know for sure too much radiation can cause it). This article discusses the fact that hospitals and radiation doctors are not even tracking the number of times or amounts of radiation given to patients, read about it here. How can such a major thing like CT scans get overlooked and not even tracked? Radiation is something that shouldn't be messed with or ignored, it has tremendous health benefits by allowing doctors to see things that cannot be seen otherwise, but these totals should absolutely be tracked for every patient. I also wondered this same thing about dentists giving radiation to patients every few years on the teeth. Dentists aren't exactly radiation experts like some of these doctors are either. Reading that article is disturbing, the fact so many patients were given radiation again and again, without even checking to see if the patients had radiation treatment before. The bottom line is cancer can be caused by radiation, and the fact this is not tracked or forced to be tracked is a very disturbing situation for a country like the United States, which is susposed to have some of the best cancer treatment and doctors in the entire world!

I don't like when dentists use that radiation that goes around your head, using radiation to look at teeth is one thing but using radiation to get an entire image of your head and jaw is something that shouldn't be done there by people who aren't necessariy qualified for doing that

I agree that the U.S. overuses radiation and xrays just like antibiotics, keep giving that stuff out all the time and every type of bacteria will be immune to it, not to mention its all ending up in our water supplies.
