Even someone you have talked to for months may be a dating scammer |

All Headlines Front Page Dating scams are fooling alot of people. Don't be one of them.Someone you trust online could be setting you up to scam your money..... One thing about dating scams that is always true ..... every one of them thought "there is no way this person could do that to me". Thats exactly what they want you to think, and the scan can be done simply by sending YOU money. That's right, I'll explain to you how it works, as I've actually seen many scam attempts myself. One example is described in detail here. The way it works is simply the man or woman meets you online, on any dating site or chatroom. It really doesn't matter where, their only goal is to get to be your friend, to talk to you over a month or two, and earn your trust. Once they have gotten that far, and told you stories about coming to visit, or even planning a future with you, they bring up a "situation". Often they tell you are out of the country, and for any number of reasons they want you to cash a money order from them. Of course you have nothing to lose since they are sending you a money order, right? This is where everyone makes the mistake. They think there is nothing to lose, and after all, this is someone they trust and are planning to meet and have a future with. The way it works is the money order is fake, but banks don't find out until several days later. Meanwhile, you have cashed "their" money order and wired or sent the cash to them, since you really had nothing to lose anyways .... until the bank calls you back and tells you that YOU are responsible for the money and have to pay it back. Meanwhile the person you wired the money too simply disappears. It happens alot, so don't let yourself be a sucker. By the way, this also happens alot with those who are renting houses or rooms on craigslist, etc. People "contact" you and say they are sending you the first months rent as they live overseas, and they "accidently" overpay you. Then they simply ask you if you would send back the extra money that they overpaid. You know the rest of this story, no need to explain further ......
